This past semester I had the honor of taking a journalism course for the school I am currently attending. As a requirement during this course, we had to become fully immersed in various mediums of technology, such as blogging. From an idea, to a blog concept, Influx was born. It is been such an honor to be able to blog from my creative thinking, and share newfound knowledge of various music and other things. Although this is my last post for awhile, I will continue to cultivate influx in ways that will brand myself as a music connoisseur.
I wanted my blog to be a place where ideas and people arrive. I wanted an Influx of great music as a platform for me to introduce myself to the music world via writing and posting about such. The overall experience has been one-of-a-kind-- being that it was completely new for me. Not only was it fun, but I enjoyed the organizational aspect and planning ahead that went into it. From pushing myself to explore my "blogger" side, to writing about new concepts and musical endeavors. Blogging became a way I was able to play with words and make them into compelling captions, as well as additive commentary.
Knowing what I do now, social media plays a huge aspect in promoting yourself. The skills I learned have taught me to be an effective technology user as well as receptive to new skills. Looking back, I wish I would've known more about the importance of promoting myself and my blog-- I would've been much more active in outlets such as Twitter and Facebook. All that aside, this experience will benefit me not only in my writing techniques, but in my social media presence. I not only want to make Influx to be something, but I want to continue blogging from more of a personal standpoint. In order to fully implement the tools and skills I've learned from this experience, I will continue my blog and expand my knowledge of what it takes to be a singular blogger and writer in a technological world that is full of them.
