Music captivates more than emotions, it has the ability to speak to the soul for those who are willing to listen. Artist come and go but some artists are so profound, their song can leaves a lasting sound. I find this to be especially true during award season. The performances are legendary. Recently, amidst the height of award season, artists give their performances all they have- as John Legend would say, "all of me." Upon viewing the Grammys, Legend's Performance was indeed Legendary. Himself and singer Cynthia Erivo sang "God Only Knows" a cover from the original song by the Beach Boys. A tear jerkier nonetheless, the audience was overcome with the beauty of the live performance. I asked my sister, Cassidy Cunningham, for her response to the song, being that she shares the mutual love of music I do. She states, "The song is beautiful, poignant, and the duet adds a level of depth. The combination of the violin and the piano give feelings of sadness and nostalgia. I was not able to watch the performance live but I wish I could have." According to E-Online Legend states, "I can do it but I just learned it this week," he said. "You know, it's not an easy thing to do."
Here below is the video of the live performance.
